Environmental Burdens in Perspective
Material balance of the Noritake Group (In Japan / For the year ended March 31, 2009)
Noritake always tries to understand the environmental burdens generated by its business activities from the perspective of material balance. Noritake ensures that the input and output of substances and energy which are associated with its production and distribution activities in Japan are displayed correctly using easy-to-understand units and symbols. The input and output figures are then used as indices for promoting the effective and efficient reduction of environmental burdens.

Environmental Burden Reduction Activities
3R Activities
Noritake's activities are operated based on the 3R principles; "reducing", "reusing" and "recycling" of industrial waste and general waste which are generated at production sites and operating offices. Noritake defines 3R as the best approach for the effective use of resources.
Global Environmental Protection Measures
As part of the measures to reduce CO2 emissions, Noritake supports the adoption of inverters for air-conditioning, the improvement of firing furnace efficiency and the shift to low-carbon fuels.
Reduction of Substances with Environmental Impact
Noritake strengthens the establishment and operation of its system to control chemicals contained in products while developing criteria to ensure the procurement of environmentally-conscious raw materials and components.
