These grinders are used in iron and steel manufacturing processes for grinding off billet surface defects. The billet is an intermediate product made before the finished metal is rolled into various types of bar steel or wire rods. If the billet is not properly conditioned, the quality and yield of the bar steel and wire rods will suffer, as will the quality of the finished product.

This machine is a billet grinder that uses a Noritake 3Z grinding wheel for high-efficiency grinding. It is equipped with an automatic speed change function that compensates for loss of peripheral speed as the grinding wheel wears. And it is also equipped with PLC (Power Level Control), which ensures that the grinder operation is always stable.

< About PLC >
PLC (Power Level Control) is Noritake's own grinder pressure control system. This system converts the load on the grinder motor during operation into a feedback signal that is used to control the contact pressure according to how the load deviates from the set load. It delivers a stable grinding rate by varying the grinding pressure according to changes in the grinder load caused by the curvature and hardness of the material being ground. The system also extends the life of the grinding wheel by preventing it from being damaged when grinding a corner section.
